• Programs
  There are four different age divisions for the Fall season. Divisions are split by gender and age. Children age 6 to 18 (as of August 1, 2009) are eligible to participate

  
  Age determines what program a player can register for. Age is determined by your age on August 1, 2009. Programs are grouped by age. HVSA allows a player to play in a program above his/her age group if the player is no more than one year younger than the bottom age of the next program.

• JOSHUA RIGEL SCHOLARSHIP FUND
  Families experiencing financial hardships may request aid from the JOSHUA RIGEL SCHOLARSHIP FUND. An application may be downloaded from the HVSA web site or may be requested by phone by calling the number below.
• Schedule Notes
  
  • The season will start on Saturday, September 12, 2009.
  • Division I plays on Saturdays.
  • Divisions II through IV will have games Saturday and Sunday. Practice during the week is likely.
• Team Selection
  The HVSA board has adopted a draft procedure policy that warrants that all teams will be reselected on an annual basis.
• Equipment Notes
  

  • Shin guards are mandatory in all Divisions.   Shirts, shorts and socks are provided for division II thru IV.  A team shirt and a ball will be provided to each Division I player.  Soccer cleats are required for Divisions II thru IV. .
  • Act C.5:18-1 passed by the Senate and General assembly of the State of New Jersey states that any child that wears corrective eyeglasses while participating in soccer shall be required to wear protective eyewear that meets the frame standards of the American Society for Testing and Materials (ATSM) F803 and the lens standards of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Z87.1.   • No forms of jewelry are allowed on a player with the only exceptions of religious or medical bracelets, which must be properly taped to the player's body. This includes all forms of piercing.
• Volunteers
  The HVSA always needs board members, coaches, assistant coaches, sponsors and referees. If you would like to participate in one of these capacities, please indicate this when registering online.
  
  
  All coaches and assistants will be required this year to undergo criminal background checks with the Hopewell Township Police department prior to the start of the season. For more information reference http://www.hopewelltwp.org/criminal_background_check_faq.html.

  HVSA drawstring bags will be available for purchase for $10.
